Adair named MAOFP Executive Director
The Michigan Association of Osteopathic Family Physicians (MAOFP) Board of Directors met on Sunday, April 14th, and appointed Andrew Adair, DO, FACOFP, FAAFP, as Executive Director.
Dr. Adair is currently serving on the Board of Directors as Past President and was MAOFP President during the 201 1-2012 term.
Dr. Adair is employed as a physician of family medicine with the Hemy Ford Health System. He received his undergraduate degree from Bellarmine College and his Doctor of Osteopathy from DesMoines University.
Dr. Adair's post-graduate residency was through the University of Minnesota. He is Board Certified from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Adair holds Michigan Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery Physician and Michigan Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance licenses. He also holds certificates in Advanced Life Support – Obstetrics, Advanced Life Support – Obstetrics – Instructor Certified, Advanced Cardiac Life and Pediatric Life Support.
Dr. Adair serves as the Family Medicine Service Line Chairperson at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital and the Medical Records Committee Chairperson at Mount Clemens General Hospital. He is also the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) Chairman of the Website/Social Media Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Program Committee. Dr. Adair is currently on the Board of Directors for the Macomb County Osteopathic Medical Association and serves on the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Bureau of Membership.
Dr. Adair was instrumental in bridging relations between MAOFP and Michigan Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP). He was also involved in the conversion and establishment of the AOA’s committee of interns and residents to a formalized council.
