MAOFP's Mentor Program facilitates meaningful one-on-one mentorship opportunities between physicians, residents and students. Each participant may serve as a mentor and/or mentee to best meet their needs and goals. For example, a new physician or resident may wish to mentor a medical student or another resident, or he/she may wish to receive mentorship from a more experienced physician.

Submit your application here.

Eligibility to Participate

Current MAOFP members are eligible to participate in the Mentor Program for no additional charge. Not a member? Join today! Student memberships are free and resident memberships are only $25!

Program Structure

Interested members will complete an application by January 25, 2024 and identify areas of needed support from a mentor and/or knowledge and guidance they would like to share with a mentee. MAOFP staff and leadership will pair members with complementary needs and strengths.

MAOFP will hold a virtual kick-off meeting to review the program structure and expectations of participation. Each mentorship pair will determine their own schedule and methods of communication (scheduled calls, in-person or virtual meetings, emails, etc.). It is highly recommended that each pair connect at least once per month.

Program Timeline and Events

The program runs from February through June.  MAOFP recommends that mentor pairings meet at least once per month in February – June or more often if schedules and individual needs/preferences allow.
